Questions Answered

Hi everyone. Several questions have come in about yesterday's blog. One was from our son Daniel, our writer..."What is the inscription on the monument to those who lost their heads in The Tower of London.?" It says...

"Gentle visitor pause awhile * where you stand death cut away the light of many days * here jewelled names were broken from the vivid thread of life * may they rest in peace while we walk the generations around their strife and courage * under these restless skies"   Brian Catling

Our friend from HBU, Diane Lovell, very kindly offered to let us stay in her flat while we were in the Cotswolds. We have seen pictures and were excited. But nothing could prepared us for the site that awaited us as we rounded the turn in the narrow country lane...

These were just quickly snapped on first arrival  but more will come. It's amazing.

Second question, "What do the comments about avocados mean?" At the sandwich shop, first I ordered  the sandwich, Avocado and Bacon. The waitress said, "No we can't make that one. But what about the Chicken, Bacon and Avocado with dressing." I said Okay but wondered how it could be that they couldn't fix the first one but could fix the second one, which has the same two ingredients, but oh well.... After about five minutes she came back and said "Sorry, we can't do that one either." So we said, "Okay what is the problem, the avocado or the bacon?" She said we don't have avocado! Who knows? Anyway, I ended up with Chicken, Mushroonm and Sweet corn sandwich. It was delicious and pretty funny at the time!
